Platform Basics
Jobs: create, schedule and track
The heart of the platform, the full job lifecycle from draft to invoiced. Start by go to Jobs → New Job (or press Cmd/Ctrl-K and type 'new job').
What it does
Jobs carry your work from enquiry to payment: create a job, schedule it, assign technicians, track progress live (draft → scheduled → on the way → in progress → completed → invoiced), capture photos and signatures, and convert the finished job into an invoice. List, kanban and calendar views let each person work the way they prefer.
When to use it
This is the first module to master, every other feature (invoicing, tracking, timesheets, reports) hangs off the job record.
Steps
- Go to Jobs → New Job (or press Cmd/Ctrl-K and type 'new job')
- Pick the customer, describe the work, set the date and assign technicians
- Track status live, technicians update it from the Field Agent app as they work
- When the job completes, use Create Invoice to bill it in one click
- Switch between table and kanban with the view toggle; group by status or technician
- Completed, invoiced and cancelled jobs auto-archive monthly on the 1st, find them via the 'Archive' button, where admins can restore any job
About 7 minutes.
What it solves
Eliminates whiteboards, paper job cards and the "what is Thabo doing today?" phone calls.
Why it matters
A clean job pipeline is the difference between guessing and knowing: what is booked, what is running late, and what is ready to bill.
